what I’m doing here

I share power with my clients and collaborate with them so they can come home to their attachment needs and their inner knowing.

how I’m doing it

I use two main therapeutic models: Internal Family Systems and Emotionally Focused Therapy.

how I got here

I’m a relationship therapist because I was the worst ever at relationships. I learned all that I teach my clients through the urgency of my own pain.

my identities and what I’m about

I hold a lot of identities that are in close proximity to power in our current social structure. I’m a slender, white, middle-class born, CIS, heterosexual woman. I am also childless, divorced, long-footed and thin haired. I worked for many years as a struggling artist and consciousness explorer, and I made money in restaurants and coffee shops. I am a fantastically bad waitress. It was a dining trainwreck. I know what it’s like to live outside of the cultural markers of success, and I try to remember that feeling from behind the cocoon of my newfound professionalism.

I’d like to come immediately out from behind that cocoon. Without the silky protection, I'm a witch, ceremonialist, herbalist, insecure visual artist and musician. I was in a band called Boobface, owned an herbalist business that I truly hated running called The Medicine Chest, and have been leading and participating in sacred circles since I was fifteen. What matters to me, like really, really matters to me, is living in alignment with what we might refer to as a soul, and being close to other souls in the process.

I’m all about Science with a capital S when it comes to our primate need to snuggle with another primate at night, our need to know the cave door isn’t going to close on us, and the freak-out we’re going to have if we think for a second that we’re being left out on the tundra. I use this Science every single day in my practice to make sense of all these suffering humans who fight with the person they want to be closest to, or who struggle to get close to anyone at all.

I am ALSO all about: the help available to you from your ancestors, and the imperative of becoming yourself on this earth in the time you are given here, cultural scripts be damned!

That’s what I’m about.
